Fundraising Events
Spring Plant Sale
The Wayne Countryside Garden Club hosts two fundraising events during the year. All proceeds from these initiatives directly support our mission of community beautification and education.
We have two great options for purchasing spring flowers this year:
Clesens: Once again, the Garden Club is offering Spring Annuals from this well-known wholesaler in South Elgin. This year, in an effort to benefit members, we are offering a greatly reduced markup of only 10% (down from 25%). Instructions for ordering are attached!
Pros:
● Lower price
● Impressive options
● Ordering full flats, you can combine your order with friends/neighbors for a great deal
● Why wait! You can order now and items will be carefully saved for you. Also, there is no deadline for ordering, however Clesens does run out of stock on popular items so order early)
Cons:
● Ordering full flats, cases, and trays is mandatory
● Clesens does not provide pictures, so varieties may need to be searched for on Google. We have included last year’s color .pdf, which includes pictures of some of the varieties offered.
Heinz Garden Center: New this year!! We are working with Heinz to have WCGC Shopping Days!! The club will benefit from these purchases!
● Shop from Monday, May 11th, to Friday, May 15th, and the club will benefit! This is the week immediately after Mother’s Day.
● Show the attached “Plant and Earn” flyer (on your phone or printed) to prove that you are shopping with WCGC. The club will receive a percentage of your purchase.
● Share this flyer with your friends and family
This is a great option for those of you who would like to purchase just a few plants, and it gives you the opportunity to stroll through their beautiful garden center.
